Zia Yusuf, for Reform UK, has confirmed that as a move towards integration and pride in Britain, Reform majority councils will require that “predominantly in England the only flags permitted to be flown on or in its buildings will be the Union Jack and the St George’s flag although the County’s flag may be flown on certain days”. For example, the Yorkshire Flag may be flown on Yorkshire Day.
in Scotland the St Andrews flag will be substituted for the St George’s flag and in Wales the Red dragon flag will be substituted for the St George’s flag.
Reform has dismissed flag-fuelled outrage after Tory MPs fumed at Zia Yusuf’s pledge for all county halls, saying that the woke Tories and civil servants who are complaining are simply aggrieved that they can no longer fly pride and other pro-woke flags.
Reform declared on TV that the 10 local authorities swept up by last week’s turquoise tidal wave “will move at speed to resolve that the only flags permitted to be flown on or in its buildings will be the Union Jack and the St George’s flag” but Yusuf, confirmed to GB News, that “…county flags will continue to be able to fly on Reform-run council buildings where appropriate, but no other flags will be permitted to be flown on its flag-poles, balconies, reception desks or council-chamber walls”.
